Critical thinking
Critical thinking really means a lot to me as the followings: 1, I do not easily believe something I am not clear about. 2, I usually rationally exam the specific thing i face , such as promoted products, advice and ideas etc. 3, I treat ads I face with skeptical and critical attitudes. When I learn a new theory or knowledge, I will exam it with prudent attitudes to make sure that this new knowledge and theory is feasible. I will compare the new theory with the knowledge I have obtained. Critical thinking means that when I am in troubles, I can quickly make a wise decision and improve myself better. There are several ways to helpful for me to foster my critical thinking: first, the study is the basic step to make my critical thinking better, such as common sense, logic, deduction and induction inference and so on in my decision-making. If something does not conform to common sense and logic, it is mostly does not make sense. In this way, i am prone to be careful and cautious, as a result, I will be not easily manipulated or coerced by those with power, money, control, status, and agendas etc. Second, take advantages of intellectual tool such as search engines, concepts and principles that enable me to analyze, assess, knowledge and consistently improve my self-discipline. I am keenly aware of the inherently flawed nature of human thinking when left unchecked. I know something not only by itself but also through its relative affecting factors and surroundings, so I can know it clearly and fully.
I consistently attempt to live rationally, reasonably, empathically and use the intellectual tools that critical thinking offers --concepts and principles that enable you to analyze, assess, and improve thinking. I work diligently to develop the intellectual virtues of intellectual integrity, intellectual humility, intellectual civility, intellectual empathy, intellectual sense of justice and confidence in reason. I realize that no matter how skilled I am as a thinker, I need always to improve my reasoning abilities.
As far as I am concerned, when I am doing something, I am going to face a lot of choices and I often compare the choice I would like to the rest ones. As a known proverb goes: look before you leap ,in this way, I am on the track of critical thinking and therefore I will not be in any trouble. For example, when I come across a thing, first of all, i will think whether it is good to me or bad. Is it right or wrong to do it? What is the best way to deal with it? In my mind, a very important and general principle-the greatest truth are the simplest-pops up. I have achieved many goals quickly and easily in life following this.
The unexamined life is not worth living ,because they realize that many unexamined lives together result in an uncritical, unjust, dangerous world. This means most to me, because I am living in this world with what I need. I strive to be a great man with critical thinking. I must exam my life critically and prudently to accomplish what I want.
