Discussion Leader (5%)
Several students will be assigned to be discussion leaders for each reading. Each student will be a discussion leader twice during the semester. On your assigned day ( check the syllabus for the date the reading assignment is due- this is your group leader due date) come to class with 5 questions typed on a sheet of paper that you will ask your group for discussion- There is no way to make up the assignment if it is missed or if it is not typed! Discussion leaders should come prepared to keep the group talking about the reading or real life issues related to it. To

receive credit for this assignment, these questions and notes from your group discussion need to be turned in at the end of class.
Guidelines for the questions:
● Identify 5 quotes or findings (statistics or qualitative data) that you found interesting.
● Create a question based on each of these quotes that you will ask your group to think
about.
● Make sure to type up your group leader questions, with the quote and page number of the
quote, and bring a copy to class. Take a few notes on your group’s response.
● Turn in your typed questions for credit.
● You cannot make these up! Make sure to be in class the day the reading assignment is
due!
