"In this world, you only get what you grab for," says Giovanni Boccaccio, an important Renaissance humanist. To me, what Boccaccio says implies that if there is a little chance that I can gain the admission of the graduate program, I’ll spare no effort to grab for it. As a child, my parents found my interest in drawings and looked after my spirit of inquiry. It is the time where I started to receive the compulsory education that my potential in arts was aroused. I made it obtain admission of Mount Holyoke College and major in Art History & Economics and gained my bachelor of Arts in December 2017 at length.
Further study stares me in the face. I worked hard to get better academic performances, and all my striving pays off, which lays the theoretical foundation of the further study. The economics courses such as Econometrics, Labor Economic, IFM Marco Programs, Economics of Immigration provide me with the economic knowledge related to Arts Management. While Collecting Antiquity, Weimar Cinema, Japanese Art is the courses related directly. However, due to varies reasons, it is easy to find that my knowledge frame is incomplete. When it comes to the visual and performing arts, there are so many knowledge fresh to me. And I find it necessary to improve knowledge structure, and to apply for a graduate program when I want to fulfill my career in art collectives and creative communities. After doing sound researches, the MA in Arts Management impresses me most.

Experience is the best teacher and can indicate directions for you. With the acknowledgment of experience, I take advantages of all internship programs related to specializations to increase the experience. From a sales intern at the UNIOLO to coordinator intern at the Semiconductor Manufacturing Int’l Corp. to art administration intern at the Samuel Freeman Gallery, I take every opportunity seriously. Now, I am a Jewelry Production Assistant at Stones&Gold Jewelry since February 2018. Thanks to my language abilities, I am qualified to intern at companies in Shanghai, China and Los Angeles, CA as well. Moreover, I realize that applied skills in administration, finance, and programming as well as interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills are vital to my vocational development. All these drive me to make up my mind to apply for the MA in Arts Management.
Combine interests with student programs. I prefer music like tango, guitar, hip-hop music, Jazz. When I got across the student program that needs a stage crew, I applied at once in September 2015. And I insist on doing my best part until the graduation in December 2017. I like the stage crew very much because I work it for music. The sense of achievement inspires our team to work collaboratively to ensure everything runs smoothly is worthy.
Based on the illustrations above, I’d like to do my best to apply for the MA in Arts Management. I have done my best to obtain better academic performance which convinces me to take part in a graduate program and the MA in Arts Management is the best for me. Furthermore, with the help of different interns, I come close to the Arts Management and decide to develop abilities to do the best in this industry.
